Double post. Forgive me.

Those Image 1s look pretty slick. They remind me of the Phiaton PS320s, which isn't a bad thing.

We need more portable cans in this price range - better than sub-$100 fare, but not at an exorbitant price you'd worry about walking outside with. There's no more than five I can think of off the top of my head; ES7s, a couple of Phiatons, B&W P5s, and the decades-old HD25s. Originally I bought ESW9s thinking I could use them on the go, but Toronto's polarizing climate would destroy the wood/leather in no time.

To be honest, I was hoping for some fullsize cans though, something that would compete with the HD6x0, K70x, DT880, etc. Maybe those are on the way.

Same here - I'd be interested in a Klipsch headphone that could compete capably with the big boys. I've auditioned the X10 and the X5 before; the former had a great tonal balance, and the latter had eye-blinking speed. Klipsch can probably pull it off.

Ok, now to the real world stuff:

1.- Comfort: They have to be as comfortable as possible. If I want to enjoy my music I have to forget I am having headphones on top.

2.- Neutral sound: High fidelity stands for being as true to the recording as possible. No need for "brand coloration" or any of that BS.

3.- Detachable cable: Not for any re-cable nonsense whatsoever. Simply being able to use cables of different length for different situations. If cables come with the bundle (like the new Denons seem to be doing) then that's a big thumbs up to you. And at the same time if headphone cables break so that you not need to send them for repair. No matter how good the service is it is always a pain if you have to part with them. Better of swapping cables.

4.- Affordable: No need to follow what other brands seem to be doing recently. The cheaper they are and the better they are the more number of them will be sold. For example check the ATH-m50. Great price and performance.

5.- Durable: Make them last. No weak points in design.

6.- Looks: No need for any fancy-looking headphone. A headphone is supposed to sound good, regardless of its looks. Serious looking cans (if you know what I mean smily_headphones1.gif) are the way to go. They are neither childish nor extremely fancy. That way you can keep production costs low and make a good product.

Hope that's enough info.

EDIT: Seems I was late to this... well, they don't look like full sized cans to me, though.
