From California, AdamCalifornia reporting about the Ferrari California

Thread Starter
This thread is a continuation of the opening post in Unleash your ...
and also Ferrari GTO 250 Spyder California sold for ....
To get into a 'Ferrari mood' I strongly suggest that you read or glance through
the whole opening posts in those two threads.
(You do not need to go through the whole threads.)

Let me continue.
In the same interview, the president of Ferrari, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo told Charlie Rose (something like that):
We were in California in the late 1950s and early 1960s and we want to be back.
First Ferrari GTO 250 California Spyder was produced in 1958.
Yes, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo kept his word. - Ferrari came back to California 50 years later.
The Ferrari California officially debuted last October (2008) during the 2008 Paris Auto Show.

By the way, a total of 125 cars - Ferrari GTO 250 California Spyder -
were made from 1958 to 1963, and they became the most prized Ferraris on the road.

The inspiration for this thread was provided by a review which appeared in Motor Trend, October, 2009.
The same review can be found online: First Test: 2010 Ferrari California

Ferrari California on the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, California

Here are some highlights from the (online/magazine) review.

Californication Italian Style - (first test) Ferrari California

Quote:
But fear not, all the firsts have not changed the purity of Ferrari; they've just expanded its range.
.....
Ferrari has managed to make the entry-level California a true supercar in ever sense of the word.
....
... the ... seven-speed automated manual gearbox is nothing short of absolute perfection,
worlds better than the old single-clutch F1 automated manual found in most current Ferraris.
They got 3.5 secs to 60mph. .... That's damned impressive ...

Furthermore,

Quote:
All you're left with is a constant acceleration accompanied by
a sweet-sounding bark between shifts.
....

To make it a true Ferrari California the top had to come off. -
The Ferrari opted for a rectactable hardtop.

... the all-new chasis works amazingly well at maintaining the rigidity
they have come to know and love in Ferraris.

Also, Ferrari does nothing for styling; everything it does to a vehicle is a specific purpose,
as is the case with the exhaust treatment.

Ferrari California is a GT.
Finally their memorable drive through the Italian countryside.

Quote:
The first thing we noted is how smooth the ride is,
as opposed to harsh aggressive feeling you get from an F430 -
but trust us, it still lives up to the Ferrari name.
....
... the soul of Ferrari is still there:
crisp turn in, amazing feel, plenty of power, and that unmistakable Ferrari sound.

Quote:
The interior is a fantastic step up for the Ferrari. .... the best so far ...

... super exotic masterpiece
The base cost is about $192,000 and the one they tested cost about $209,000.

Somewhere on the internet I've read this:

AdamCalifornia ..., ooops ....

Quote:
Ferrari California, you are such a tease.

Again, let me quote the president of Ferrari, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo:

Quote:

We don't sell cars, we sell Dreams!
or, in Italian,

Quote:

Non facciamo macchine, facciamo sogni!

As before, I couldn't resist: Alleluia!

Ciao,

Adam Ferrari California

No matter. Any convertible or roadster will get you by in Southern California.
So, Adam, have you actually driven a Ferrari California, or are you just cutting and pasting everything from others?
Is that a blue Fiat Miata?

Now, this is a nice Ferrari, the 430 Scuderia...

Only Ferrari California is what matters.

"A Ferrari named after my state?" - Yup! You got it right!

For instance, Ferrari New York, Ferrari Texas, Ferrari Loch Ness, etc. don't make any sense.

Only AdamCalifornia, ooops .... Ferrari California makes sense.

Ferrari California

On another matter, what do you-all think about the review?

the colors they make my eyes hurt.. and you really do seem to be copy and pasting what your "typing"
Adam, I can't even read your post through all the colors and waving about, so I have no idea what you mean by saying it's a review.
