You will need an integrated amplifier or a receiver to drive a pair of speakers. Since the Bellari 130 seems to have an output volume Pot, you might get by with just a power amplifier.

I am torn between getting extra speakers and such or just finally caving and getting the Xonar HDAV deluxe because I could just plug into that and listen out of existing set-up...

I'd get a vintage amp and speakers off craigslist or in a yardsale as it'll probably cost a lot less, sound much better and allow you to plug into your existing soundcard as well anyway through the tape loop.

This Xonar looks like it's mainly an HDMI card which is cool but not as cool as a Matrox MXO2 or similar dedicated one which takes all the processing outside the computer and gives you HDMI in and out with professional levels of screen calibration. Depends if that's something you want or need I guess but it's not got much to do with vinyl in any case.


what are you listening to your computer through anyway?
