That's good to know. I had to get a 3G to get 64GB anyway. If I'd stayed on the iRiver I would've upgraded it to a 120GB HD because even with 64GB I have to take tracks off to fit everything on, but it actually doesn't matter as I have plenty of album tracks to cull I don't like, and the convenience, speed, battery life & flatness you get from playing from flash memory is totally worth it (not to mention the other cool iTouch features).

And yeah, those Apple EQ presets really do suck . I wonder why they don't give you a graphic EQ to tweak (well I don't use EQ, but for those that do).

they were exactly the same,, 3rd gen was slightly faster but not always and i actulaly at first thought that the 2nd generation screen appeared brighter, but they were very close, i wouldnt upgrade from a 32 2nd gen to a 32 gb 3rd gen, the only diff is that the 3rd gen has voive control command,, i have not tested htis ouu yet however.

i may end up gettin a cowon s9 for the sweet eq options,, apple eq presets really suck
Well, the 3G ipod touch has more "ram" and the processor steps up from 300 to 500 ~ mhz.

If you're looking to get good SQ idk why you would buy an iPod anyways, I got an iPod touch as a portable gaming device/PDA.. I listen to music on it but am not impressed, and never expected to be.

Actually, 532 (2nd gen) to ~800 (IIRC 3rd gen) + 2x the ram.

I honestly don't think the music is that bad, but the EQ is god awful. Try it on bass-boost; the distortion is terrible. Funny that the "treble reduce" setting actually is much better and a welcome option for RE0s on some songs.

Ah, well I knew it was something like that. And yeah, I never use the EQ settings.

As for the Fiio E1, I would rather save my money, and my battery life.. Not to mention I have a really nice hard shell case on my ipod that's not coming off.

I mean the Touch doesn't sound bad at all, but it actually shines doing other things like facebook / youtube / checking the weather / news. (which was the selling point for me!) In terms of SQ there are better options for the price out there though.

For sure, but then the iPod does it all. Although since I got my RE0s, I haven't really been using my apps so much as just listening to music.
