is there any seller for akg k501 on internet? i couldnt find on ebay and amazon.com

mkiii has 350 mw output power for 600 ohms headphones. i dont know whats the reason of feeding problem. with higher gain settings, can mkiii drive k701 properly?

(by the way mkiii drives rs1 better with 5x gain level. that means, there is no rule a lower impedance headphone must be driven with lower gain levels)

The Sennheiser HD-600 is also a terrific classical headphone, as are the Beyerdynamic DT880 or DT48, and the AKG K-240DF. I love all of them with classical.
Which version of the DT48 may I ask?

K-702 with an SS amp will bring to the 701/2 the speed and clarity that they need for classical, the K701/2 can sound very bed with some tubes, I would not recommended amp tube with the 701s. Some members insist on this combo and then they show up and start to blame the headphones.

The DT48S, or the E version are great for vocals, but they don't have the sound stage, highs....or the low end that the classic music deserve. The K-1000 will be much better choice here, if you can ignore the fact that they don't provide information under 50 hz.

also i will buy musiland 02 monior us sound card for my mkiii. do you think k701-2 can be driven by 02 us ? some user say this sound card includes great amp section. whats your idea?

if the answer is no,then there are two choices for me; dt880 and hd600. which one is better for symphonic classical recordings?
thanks,

Yes, if it's something like the Asus Essence STX in sound quality.
You also can try the Kontrol 1, or the Apogees mini DAC, or the Duet.

They might have a similar sweetness profile, but that lingering artificial aftertaste was something I could never get used to. On the other hand, people guzzle artificial sodas and love artificial flavorings, so maybe the K-701 is an acquired taste. But for me, the K-701 is to my ears what Olestra is to my intestine.

I love the taste of saccharine!
