Thanks to MrSpeakers and Hennyo for all their hard work! I have been pretty satisfied with my setup, but this has me curious. I think I am going to be doing this. I just need to find a source for Paxmate and FatMat.

Where have people been sourcing their stiff craft felt? I have some felt I have been using from WalMart (from another project) but I would like to try out this felt and see what I can do with it.

Michaels Craft Store has the stiff felt I've used...

I tried acoustic foam to the inside of the baffle, in conjunction with the transpore tape, and felt it sucked out a lot of the sub-bass. However, I didn't even think to try it with the stiff craft foam. I'm looking forward to giving it a shot when I get home. Now that I have my LCDs back, I'd be happy to do some comparisons this weekend.

Thanks, so far, guys.  I'm just happy to give back after the community exposed me to what has become a wonderful hobby, and the people who figured out that the T50 could really become SO much better!

I would note that the mods probably really are best done in their entirety.  The level of resolution these phones have is SO high that minor anomalies in the sound spectrum are easily heard, especially peaks.  Doing 80% of the mods or mixing and matching with other mods may really be a fail, so if possible I'd suggest get to the full Rastapants 2 mod before trying any changes.

I think I'll have to try the Rastapants 2. I'll have to buy some acoustic foam for myself and work at it.

If I already applied the acoustic foam to the outside of the baffle near where the bass vents are is it easy to remove?

Don't worry about the outside bass vents.  I'll play later but for now covering them is fine...

I meant the area around them. That's still uncovered since I'm too lazy but I assume dynamat and then a layer of paxmate over it unless I'm reading it wrong which is possible as I'm really tired now. I already applied acoustic foam there so was wondering if that was easy to remove. I would just get another T50RP but those are impossible to find right now :p

That looks amazing! Directions aren't confusing at all.

But what does the paxmate on the baffles do? Is it just to reduce the inside volume into more of a circular shape?

NO...it helps control the stray reflections from the driver and the rear of the cup.

^T40RP. Silver is the color of the cup metal, hence I call them 'silver and gold' :P

oohhh..are you going to attempt to mod them as well like you did to the T50RP? It would be interesting to know how they compare and how close they can get.
