Hi,
This here is an air traffic controller's headset from Sennheiser based, I'm guessing, on the HD 400 - with a dynamic boom mic. It's very light, with a double adjustable headband and earpieces that swivel out of the way - the stiff mic boom also adjusts in clicky steps up to fully vertical.
It has a single-entry cable which has an (original-looking) 1/4" stereo plug for the headphones and a (replaced-looking) 1/8" stereo mini jack for the mic. This seems weird at first but actually works quite well with the headphones plugged into your amp and the mic into the standard input on the computer - although of course the mic is mono, the plug seems wired correctly as such.
Condition: works great; the simple foam pads are somewhat loose and raggedy but do the job; there is no foam sock for the mic but this doesn't really affect usage, assuming you're indoors (and not on the airstrip!) Maybe you could find suitable replacements for these parts... and the original 1/4" jack's strain reliever is split - please see pic.
All in all this makes a great high-quality Skype, gaming or general Madonna-style vogueing headset. Technically open-back but the sound leakage isn't too great, which helps in an office environment, and they're light and comfortable enough to be worn all day. The sound quality is good, belying their utilitarian appearance - enough to shock my (admittedly non-audiophile) colleague when I lent them to him.
I've attached a PDF of the specs for them which I found. Not too much information on them online, but I've seen them listed (perhaps outdatedly) for nearly $300 (and €300) - but due to their age I'm looking for a PayPal payment of $70 USD shipped in the lower US - other locations will have to confer on shipping.
No feeback here yet, but I'm Rdgallagher on Audiogon and rdgallagherus on eBay. Thanks for your interest!
