Equinox KICKS!

Just recieved my equinox after a long wait. Been listening about 30 minutes. This is the first time in a good 6 months that I have been able to listen for 30 minutes with no fatigue. I think this cable has really smoothed out the rough edges. More impressions to come later...

I agree! Congrats! It's a fine sounding cable upgrade. I preferred it to the Cardas, which is also very good.

Wow. Just finished a 1.5 hour listening session. I REALLY like this cable. I have little to no fatigue... when normally after 30 minutes I have a rather high amount of fatigue. Im not sure if thats possibly just because its not broken in and it hasnt "opened up" yet to cause fatigue. Thats possible... But i dont think thats it. I think the stock cable had harsher piercing highs, causing fatigue. The bass is substancially improved. Every instrument is seperated more-so... awesome soundstage. I am so satisfied with this purchase its not even funny.

I did however decide not to keep breaking the equinox in. I have sold my NAD c541i (cdp) so i can save up for a higher end cdp and I want to break the equinox in with my new cdp... (which probably wont come for 1-2 months)(plus ive got new IC's coming too).

My initial impression is that the equinox has far exceeded my expectations. I would highly reccomend anyone using the stock cable to look into an aftermarket one a.s.a.p!

PS> Keep in mind my equipment would almost be catagorized as "entry" headfi equipment... So you defenitly dont need to have very high end equipment to realize the many benefits of this cable, although im sure it would help. One of my main concerns were "With my system will this cable be a $200 improvement?" ... The answer is pretty obvious to me now... and it only gets better from here.

Harshness in a particular section of the treble leading to listener fatigue was the reason I picked up the Equinox cable, and I couldn't be happier. It solved this problem entirely. At the time I was listening to a 'bright' (slightly harsh on top) source, which compounded the problem, but the Equinox still saved the day. Now that I have a great source (that after burn-in is now super-smooth while at the same time having exceptional detail) - I'm wondering how the cardas would sound.

I too preffer my Equinox cable. It is much more forgiving than the Cardas. Although I sometimes preffer the Cardas on my best Classical recordings. If I had to chose only one it would be the Eqinox.
