Volume: AMP vs MacBook vs iTunes

i am using Grado Sr125 headphones.
a cheap Fiio E5 amp.
a MacBook w/ iTunes w/ lots of albums in Apple Lossless format.

for optimal use of the inexpensive music listening aids that i have...
should i have:
itunes Volume - 100%
Macbook Volume - 100%
then control the volume on the amp?
