My D2 just broke and i am looking for a new player(DAP or PMP).
I am searching for a good player that provide great quantity bass.
I am not going to use any amp and i am going to use IEM.
I am considering the S9 or the Iaudio i7, i tried the NWZ S738 but i returned it due the lack of bass.
Any suggestions guys?

I'm very happy with an EQed rockbox 5.5G iPod for bass quantity. I hear Sony players are the best for bass out of the box.

I have heard that Sony deliver the "best" bass, but i bought an S738 and compared to my D2 S738 had way less bass then my D2, so i like i wrote in my first post i returned it, so the sony X got way more bass?
The best bass "mp3" player i ever tested has been the W850i walkman with MegaBass, damn the bass was so deep, never heard anything like it before but ofc the sound overall was kinda bad

If the S738 has "way less bass" than the D2, I suggest keeping the D2 and buy a pair of ety ER-4P.

Well if you thought the D2 put out deep bass, the S9 should surprise after you customized the EQ settings. With a good IEM, you'll be shaking in your boots when the bass drums start roaring.

I had a D2, S9, and kept my S639. The S639 has the best bass quality/quantity of the 3. IMO of course, YMMV.

The S639 is the only DAP where I don't need to max out the bass with a good can.

If you can, try the S9. I also had a D2, and now have a S9 as my main portable player. IMO, the S9 gets everything which is great about the D2 and takes it a step further.

Also, my brother has a Sony S616F. The sound is great, but ClearBass just can't compete with Mach3Bass on that model, IMO. First, ClearBass has only 3 settings, whereas M3B has a 10-step scale, allowing a much more precise control. Second, the bass on my brother's S616F becomes bloated on the max setting, whereas M3B manages to control the bass even at the highest setting. That is, the bass can be extremely hard hitting without getting out of control.

Sansa Clip with EQ off
It has better bass than my D2 with everything off too

The Meizu M6 series has ridiculous, slightly offensive quantities of bass in my experience.

Sansa clip has virtually no bass compared to the SONYs....
