loading pictures to this site?? help

could someone please tell me , in very simple terms, how to upload pictures to threads on this site.
please note i am very green when it comes to using a pc for anything other than games!

I've never loaded pictures here, although I know you can. Most pictures are hosted on a site like photobucket.com. You can click on the icon that looks like a post card (mountains, yellow sky, and little square). It prompts you for the URL to the picture. The end result is [IMG]url[/IMG]

Meaning that if you already have a site hosting your pictures, like flickr, all you need to do is wrap the url of your picture in those img brackets.

tried that.
didnt work. dont know what i am doing wrong

Where are you hosting your pictures? Put one here in this thread putting spaces in the IMG tag so we can see what you're doing.

Here's a sample (eliminate the spaces in [ IMG ])
[ IMG ]http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w218/scompton_photos/Puerto_Rico_110.jpg[/IMG]

Here's your problem: you're grabbing the URL right from the address bar, or something like that.

You should copy it from the box on the left labelled "direct link", and then put THAT address in [IMG] tags, as I did above.
