can you give a bit of a brief comparo between your N91 and S738F?
thats what i'm looking for such a long time. would be quite helpful for me. as far as i've listened to the sony A and E series walkman i still prefer my N91 over them.

My brief store audition of the Sony A series left me unimpressed - the X series is as good as it gets for mine, but I really have trouble justifying the price when trying to recommend it over other players. Only real solution is to audition as many players as you can and/or ensure that you buy from someone who will allow you to return the DAP for store credit/refund within a given period.

Jack, I apologise if I've mislead anyone, but the A series isnt in the same class as the older S models for mine. I'm listening to my X atm and enjoying it immensely, but is it worth the premium over the S for the average Head-Fier ? Its hard to recommend it to all bar those who want one of the best mass-produced DAPs ever made (the iMod isnt a mass-produced anything, nor is the HiFiMan, but I'd be happy to have the X included in any DBT with other players from Cowon/iRiver/whoever). I still question Sony's pricing - those who rave about the OLED screen must enjoy watching video on a 3" screen more than I do ....

Nokia N91 with S738F? I found out that S738F is better, S738F have a clean and rich audio. However,Nokia N91 already an old device...so can't compare with the new one... =)

I have an S639, and I sold my S9. As you can see, IMO, the S639 has the better SQ. And I upgraded my headphones as well, Audio-Technica ATH-M50's. Get better headphones, then get the new 64gb Sony A Series that may or may not be released around Oct 31st. I hoping to get it myself, as Sony has the best SQ from the HP out of all the players mentioned - IMO of course,........

S639F 16 GB was on sale in the States for $120 a month ago. They are trying to get rid of them. The S639 is a very good DAP though

I agree 100%, the SQ is just fantastic. I had the S618, A829, and now the S639. I'll wait for a higher capacity Sony (not touch screen BTW, or I'd have the X Series), or I'll get nothing at all.

I had the S9 & the S639 at the same time, I kept the S639. 'Nuff said!!!
