A question on artwork...

I'm not really sure where to ask this so I thought I would ask here.

With my Touch's headphone jack failing I decided to purchase a Sony NWZ-S544 for my mobile player. (I have an Ipod classic that I pretty much keep docked). I am using itunemywalkman (for Mac) to transfer playlists from itunes which seems to work quite well.

One thing I noticed though is that very little artwork is being transferred over. The artwork that is being transferred over is the artwork that itunes could not find and that I had to add manually. Based on this I am assuming that itunes looks at the artwork added automatically differently than those added manually. Is this the case? and if so is there easy way to fix this? (i.e. artwork appears as if manually added).

Get the itunes script from Doug's Scripts called embed artwork
Doug's AppleScripts for iTunes ♫ Embed Artwork v2.0

I had the same problem, But am getting about 90% of my artwork to transfer.
I still have a few that I can't seem to get to work, But I haven't spent much time trying to solve it either.

Partial success with this.

Having done a rather significant push on this I find some worked and some didn't. As I ran the script I watched the disk utilization and could see it slowly incrementing which would lead me to believe the script was doing it's job.

So at this point I'm not sure if it's a problem with player being able to read the image or if it's a problem with some of these files still not having the artwork embedded. Is there a quick way to check to see that artwork has been embedded or not. There is a script that creates a playlist for files without artwork, but I believe it doesn't consider whether the artwork is attached to the file or to the album so wouldn't really provide a true indication if the artwork has been embedded or not to the file.

I am also running a program called called GimmeSomeTune
that auto checks whatever is playing in itunes and goes online to find missing artwork, Then embeds it into file.
To quickly check if a file has art embedded I just right click in itunes on file, Then hit show in finder. If the icon for said file has the artwork it is embedded.

I have the same issue with iTunes and Squeezebox (windows).
It looks like the Embed Artwork and GimmeSomeTune are mac only solutions - is that correct?

It's slowly coming together. I'm finding that Embed Artwork does not get everything first time through and that multiple runs are required. I have been keeping notes of missing artwork as I see them come up and go back and fix it.

I've also found that I need to wipe current tracks off the player for the new files to be brought over with the artwork.

Embed artwork is Mac only, not sure about GimmeSome tune.

As far as I know GimmeSomeTune is Mac only.
