Hey guys ive always ordered locally regarding hifi equipment but i am looking at getting my first set of cans which isnt actually available in australia.
with the strong aussie dollar i am looking to import.

what sort of customs fees and duration are associated with headphones shipped to australia with B&H?

I'm pretty sure purchases under $1000 have no customs fees or taxes. Whether this includes shipping is something I have no idea of but that's what I've read.

You get charged GST (10%) for importations of goods valued at or higher than AUD$1000.

1. Customs Tariff of 5% on headphones and amplifiers ( AUS$1000 or over - item cost from memory)
2. GST of 10% applies collected by customs
3. There is also a customs processing fee (used to be $48 from memory)
so for a $1000 component, landing it will cost $1198
You have to set up an import/export license first to avoid delays
