i bought an Oyaide cable and i'm going to recable my headphones but i dont know what to do with the copper insulation surrounding the cotton insulation which surrounds the blue and white wires.
am i supposed to connect it somehow along with the blue and white?

Sounds like the copper is the ground/shield the other two wires would be your left and right channels.

OYAIDE ELEC,co,.ltd.

Its a shield if you were using a balanced connector like a mic or rca cable. Dont worrry about it. Just connect the blue and white and disregard the rest.
