ety4p. If you read the lengthy Minibox E+ thread on here, you'll see that the Minibox was designed around the Ety. I'm also told the UM3X pairs well with it but at almost triple the cost of the Etys, probably too much out of your price range

s a rule of thumb, any high impedance cans will work superbly with MB-E+. Low impedance & higly sensitive IEMs will not fare too well

Does this rule apply to the AKG K340 too?

Have you allready bought the minibox? In my opinion buying a headphone to match an amp is not the way to go, should have been the other way around. The HD650 and the grados you mentioned have such different sound signatures that no amp will make you appreciate the final sound, if from the beginning you don't like the sound from the phones.

Find a headphone with a sound that suits your taste and then purchase an amp to make it sound even better. That is so much more rewarding to your ears.

LOL

To the OP:
I had the Minibox E+. I think its synergy with the ER4P/S is overrated. Its a decent amp, and it would do well with a lot of easy to drive phones. Just try to listen to some headphones and decide what sound you like best.

I tried the HD600 amped by the Minibox-E+ and the SQ was pretty good. The HD650 is a bit harder to drive than 600 but might be OK with the E+

Which HD600 version? The new white screens are easier to drive than the older ones, it seems. Likewise my new version HD650 is fairly easy to drive, even out of a CDP headphone jack.
