The JH11 is now $850 instead of $999, though I'm unsure how long this promotion will last. Why settle for the 11 when you could go all the way?

THey've said they're going to run random $100 off specials for JH13 I believe on Twitter or Facebook (facebook at least mentions it, also)...just check it out randomly...they say its limited to ten people when they run the specials.

The JH11 was what I was talking about, thanks...didn't feel like loading up the site at the time

If he were to get the JH11...I wonder how well the JH11 with an upgraded cable would compare to the JH13 with stock cable...because the $250 difference in cost buys a nicely upgraded cable with some to spare.

I am just looking how your experience has been with any of the custom IEMs. If you have any suggestions or advice to give me, I would really appreciate.
I only have experience with the UE-11 pro customs, you can read my opinion/review or my 1 year follow up in my signature. Since I've already had the UE-11's for over a year, I'd probably go with the JH13 Pro's, but that's just me and even though I state that, I still love my UE-11's.

I’m not really a runner, unless I’m chasing after my kids but I’ve really put mine through lots of outdoor activities (skateboarding, tennis, bb, canoeing, scootering, etc..). An important point to mention is that the combination of the hard shell, depth into your head along with a very good seal causes a bit of unnecessary microphonics/noise conduction from one’s body that can be heard in certain situations. For example, running, jumping, brushing teeth, eating, etc. I have either become immune to some extent or I am so use to custom monitors that it doesn’t bother me or all that is so great about them makes me ignore it. Some times I will decompress my ears as if I were diving (opening and a slight backward movement of the jaw), which reduces the seal and eliminates or reduces some of this unwanted noise. Thought I'd mention that since you're looking to push the limits, I know I have with mine

problem with ddoing all of that stuff in customs: you are going to get ""booming" sounds, snowboarding, running, blah blah... it can get annoying.

whoa which model is being discounted????

i just got my JH5 Pros. Love'm

I wouldn't bother with Fidelitys (and stay the heck away from Livewires).

I haven't had any issues at all with JHAudio's CS, and the fit/sound of my JH5s are exactly what i paid for.

Unless JHA have fixed their connection quality, or Ultimate Ears are dropping theirs, the JHA cable pins are easier to break and therefore, weaker. While they sound lovely, they are not that strong. Also, I have seen both UE and JHA cracked, broken, and smashed. The hollow Acrylic shells look great, but a little drop can render them repair-needy.

for everything, a soft-sided silicon iem like ACS or Sensaphonics is probably better.

^^JH11 is being discounted at the moment

I agree, a soft silicone monitor would probably be better for exercising just in case they come flying off of you when you're running or something. The silicone would help with shock, and wouldn't break either. But heck, i still wear my acrylic customs for exercising on occasions and i don't find a problem at all except that maybe they are more prone to breaking.
