Problem with my Verizon Wireless phone

So yea, I got back today and I got the following text, repeatedly that FILLED my inbox:
Dear Mr. (my last name), My name is Phil A.
Mignon, and I am a entrpreneur, I
have acquired some valuable
software, would you like a free trial of
said program?


This filled my inbox, and if I clear messages, it just keeps on coming.

...Suggestions? And can anyone tell me how this would happen to me?

Wow, that is awful. I also have Verizon but have not had that problem.

Take it in to a Verizon store.

Are the messages getting deducted from your text message balance?

Call Customer Service and see if you can somehow block the sender?

I'll call my dad tomorrow(since he's the main account) and get him to handle it, I guess.

And I have a limited messaging plan(unlimited in, 500 out)..
