Do you use your DAP for video ? - Page 2

true blood rocks. amazing show.

I have a 80GB classic. I have all of season 1 n 2 on my ipod. but rarely watch from the ipod.. I also have a compressed file of entourage season 1-5 all on it and i mainly watch these from my ipod to my trucks TV. So i dont actually watch the video on the dap very often. but it gets used plenty. I also alternate and sometimes will add a season, like californication to my 16GB flash drive and plug n play that in my truck also..

watching from the tiny ipod screen is a no go. but my truck TV is bigger and enjoyable. plus my two JL 12w6 subs sound great during movies in the car, as long as i dont compress the files to low.

edit* and yes I have an expensive and highly sensitive Viper alarm to protect all that stuff in my truck lol because I've been jacked before and its NOT happenin again

I use the Cowon O2 w/the vids converted to the specs of the screen on the player. I use it for watching vids ALONE, and my S639 & iPod for tunes. As you know, the last 2 have smaller screens that are (IMO) too small for decent video watching.

Video is much different than music in that you generally only watch it once, at least pertaining to TV Shows or Movies. Therefore set aside 2-3 gigs for a movie or two so you have them for flights, travel etc, and then when you sync replace them. I may be a little excessive but I probably resync my iPhone every other day if not every day. In that context it makes sense.

Are you going to use it to catalog a large library to watch at home, of course not.

usually I have some videos on my ipod touch. but converting them is really a pain. maybe I should get a PMP that could just play straight without converting.

never really liked watching videos on PMPs due to the small screen size, i can only enjoy movies on 10 inch screens or larger.

One of the things I love about my Samsung P3 is that it natively plays XViD/DivX videos, which comprise 90% of my standard def collection (my HD videos reserved for the big screen only). It looks pretty good, even though it's "only" a 3" screen. But very convenient and easy. This is one of the main features that I will sorely miss when I get the Zune HD/iPod Touch 3G...

Interesting - I have the P2, but I've never tried to play a single vid on it - will give it a shot tonite.
