Wanted: bag 'o junk

I want to eventually build an amplifier and a y2, but I don't even know how to solder. So first things first. Does anyone have some junk parts they would be willing to send me to practice soldering on? I'll be happy to pay shipping. After that, I have an unsuspecting pair of HD555s that need recabling

Go to Goodwill or find an old computer, practice soldering and de-soldering the motherboard caps etc etc. Good luck.

Great idea. Why didn't I think of that? I'm sure I have something in the garage I could take apart and resolder. Thanks.

Be careful with any relatively big caps you might find. Caps can hold a charge for a long time.

Edit: there should be a bleeder resistor in everything you would find, but just in case.

Right, I forgot to mention, don't open up the power supply and play with those caps! Other than that, you should be fine.
