The drivers on the HP-1s are not designed for the jumbos. For example, the bowls are not as deep as the jumbos, but even with the bowls on the HP-1s the bass is distant and weak. The top end of the mids is also wanting. In contrast, the PS1000s have drivers engineered to have synergy with the jumbos, and the bass, mids and everything else sound exactly as they were designed to sound when the jumbos are on the PS1000s.

I am sure you have seen
this but just in case. I don't know for sure the difference between the HP 1 and the HP 2 the polarity switch?
And there is another L 3000 for sale here this morning, so many hi end phones up for sale and not selling. Market bottoming out. Hey again "good luck!!"

yeah, if you're having to use bowl pads on the hp1's it totally defeats the point, IMO, and you might as well get a cheaper phone. Or something that is made to have a more colored sound, like the PS1000.
My buyer just pulled out. It's a dang shame to because I was getting geared up to buy my PS1000s tonight. Was even thinking about tossing in a set of D7000 while my wife was not looking.
