Thanks for the advice. In my case, I think I won't upgrade in a looong time. And also I like the integrated solution because it's easier to carry since I will be moving it around home many times.

Yes, I'm afraid we can be easily deceived with the "high price = high quality" fallacy. We have to accept it (more info here). But there are also people who don't see the point of spending more than $30 on headphones (or even buy them since mp3 players come with a pair!).

If I could, I would do a blind test before spending too much money. I would ask someone to switch randomly between different amps while I'm listening with my eyes closed/covered/looking at the other side.
