I'm on a mac and I'm pretty sure I don't have any weird sound effects turned on. I have good source files, some flac, 320, and even a vinyl rip. And yes, I am using my onboard soundcard. Luckily from what I've heard I don't need ASIO on the mac

So basically all I need is a DAC, I'm probably going to be getting the V-DAC. Heard it's a good deal.

And btw I don't regret getting the Canamp, but I'm still trying to tell how much of a difference it's making. Maybe in a month I'll notice a huge difference as I adjust to it, who knows. This is my first endeavor into hi-fi so I'm still experimenting.

Right now I am using a NAD C325BEE as an amp for my K601 and overall have been happy with its performance. I have a K702 on the way and I am now wondering if a dedicated amp would be worth it. From what I have read in several K701 amp threads the Canamp seems to be the defacto recommendation. My problem with the Heed is that it looks rather ugly/crude from the pics I have seen. The other amps I am considering are the Corda Swing, Gilmore Lite, and finding a used M^3. Ideally I would like an amp of good build quality that matches my NAD gear. Any thoughts?

Don't like the look of the heed? I think it looks pretty sleek. It's not fancy but it's certainly not an eyesore.

Just a heads up: the shipment of CanAmps cleared US customs yesterday and the importer is presently shipping orders to US dealers.

Have you guys considered HT Claro Halo sound card with the 1.5W into 32 ohm amp....i think that should be enough headroom

Sold out atm, but it wasn't a week ago....keeping an eye on. Think it will make a good match for a k702?
