There are 16GB class 6 cards that work.

Brand--Kingston SDHC
Speed Class-- 4
Size-- 32GB
Compatible-- No (at least mine)
Firmware Version/Date-- 0.19 / 2010-05-24
Comments-- strange behaviour: 20% of tracks can not be played; some tracks stop (at same point); I have reformatted twice (using special SD formatting software) but the problem keeps returning

Comments—Not being recognized at all. Firmware doesn't crash, though. Card just not being read. Tried with just ~400mb worth of music for testing purposes, so safe to say it isn't a "card-too-full" issue.

Confirmed.  Class 4 works, Class 6 doesn't.  Go figure.

Man I hope these cards work with the HM-602. I'll probably get a Sandisk 32gb Class 2 card...

Just talked to Fang and asked him to obtain a tested batch of SD cards from a factory. He said that even cards within the same brand and class are not the same because the manufacturers often replace the chips inside them without any warning. One may work the other will not.

I have learned this the hard way after my Kingston Class 4 32Gb showed up and it didn't work. If you buy them make sure you do from a source that allows returns instead of ending up with a bunch of unsuitable cards like me.

Sorry to hear of your problems, my Kingston Class 4 32GB worked from the start with no problems. Was thinking of getting a 2nd one but now I am not so sure.

Kingston 32GB class 4: Works with some tracks. I'll load an album of FLAC onto it and maybe half the albums will play, that is if the album makes it to the card. Sometimes I load up music, eject the card and player, remove/reinsert card and all that's there is a bunch of empty folders... A lot of the music shows up now after updating the firmware, but it still doesn't play it just kicks me back to the main menu.

Yeah, so it turns out that my 32GB Class 4 was a fake and that is why it acted the way it did.  I've bought it on Ebay (which I'll never do again) and now I can't even find it.  Somehow it got lost in the packing after Can Jam so I can't even return them.

I have ordered another one directly from Amazon.com (not a power seller) and when it arrives, I'll also report back.  I have a HM-801 and HM-602 on the way and not a card I can use.  It's a good thing the 602 ships with 16GB flash-based onboard storage.

So many fakes out there, you should try for a refund even though you can't find the card

there's a windows utility for checking cards, have a read of this:

Direct Download Of Software For version 1.4 of H2testw

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try this.

And finally...a card that WORKS!!!   Here is the Amazon.com link.  Full functionality, no need to reinsert to refresh memory buffer.  It is also manufactured in Japan, unlike all the others I've purchased before.  I'm glad that I was able to find one I can share between the HM-801 and the HM-602 when it arrives later.
