SE520 - Left ear driver distortion

I've had my Shure SE530s for about 2 months now, and I've been loving them up until now. I didn't know something was wrong until I was recently listening to a track with a very "whiney" guitar solo. When the guitar reached it's peak, the left ear would start to distort. When all the instruments came back in, I didn't notice the issue anymore. I thought this was just some isolated clipping in the song, but I later listened to another song with the same type of solo, and it distorted again. To be sure it wasn't an anomaly with the the model itself, I went into audacity and swapped the right and left channels. Sure enough, the left channel was playing just fine through the right ear, without issue.

Has anyone else experienced or heard of this issue? I'm assuming I'm going to have to put in a service ticket with Shure. The only part that REALLY sucks is that I lost the original receipt. I've looked everywhere for it and I simply can't find it, which is disturbing because I'm usually very organized with receipts. Does anyone know if Shure will do in-warranty servicing without one? I did register the product online when I got it.

Also, if anyone wants to try to duplicate the problem, it will occur during the first few seconds of "Talk" by Coldplay, with the volume moderate to high (left ear).

(yes, I know I made a model number typo in the subject line, sorry)

I did. I tried through some Senn cx300's and a pair of Bose Triports. No distortion. I did think it was just clipping at first, but when I switched the channels around in Audacity, the right ear was not having the same problem.

Shure will replace them as long as they are under the 2 year limit. There is a code on the first splitter on the end of the short wire. If you call up customer service and give them that number, I'm sure they can do something about it. Good luck!
