How is that relevant? I'm not criticizing it, and I'm not really complaining about anything except shipping to china and being without my headphones for ~3-4 weeks, which is pretty evident in my post. The fit and finish of every pair of HE-5s I have seen has been great.

Anyway, the crack formed perpendicular to the wooden ring on the driver housing, and it goes all the way thru the housing. It is not exactly a hairline crack; it is readily visible. I will post a pic later today.

You don't have to ship anything to China... you ship to

Fang Bian
5317 94th St, Apt 1
Elmhurst, NY 11373

if you're in the US which costs a whole maybe $5-10 from Connecticut and takes one day.

I had asked Fang to make the cable for the HE's a foot or 2 longer since inception. It's tough laying in my bed, listening to my EF-5 or Luxman without having to move down my bed another foot, compared to my R-10's of HD800's.

3 meters or 9' seems to be the perfect length., when you are talking about home use, and not portability.
For portability, 42" is too short for me, 60" is ideal.

I wish that I can get some TWag wiring with the right termination for the HE-5's. Craig, are you listening? That would be cool.

^ Dude, before you post someone's surname & address online, have you checked that's he's ok about it? (one has to be careful these days )

This address has changed, and you should check with any manufacturer before posting their address in a public domain.

EDIT - Writing at the same time as Brainfood, but it solidifies the theory.

Did not know that. That would be slightly more convenient.

Great, then someone goes and repeats it .

It's changed since two weeks ago? That's hard to believe.

His business's address is already in plenty of places. It isn't exactly a secret. For example: on the CES website or the USPTO.

Hey guys,

I ordered the HE5/EF5 combo on dec 16th, and got the ems tracking number right after, and its been about 4 days and still there are no updates. I went on the online tracking section of ems and still no information. I contacted them today, so hopefully they will respond on monday... I hope the HE-5 are in stock... Do you guys think it is possible for the package to arrive before January 1st???? thanks,

There have been lots of great posts about the HE-5 and several comments about how good it sounds just straight out the box before any burn in. I am glad to learn, before mine arrives, that there was a huge difference in factory burn-in time between the first batch and subsequent batches. When I get mine I won't be super disappointed if it doesn't sound quite so fabulous out of the box, I will just plug it in to some noise and leave it for two weeks. I think finally disclosing that information was a good move especially for those of us who havent' received the phones yet. Of course one should always put some serious hours onto new phones, but the impression set earlier, had been how great it sounds cold out of the box without any burn.

WOW! Count me in for a pair. Sensitivity no problem.

I too, think you should continue selling these individually. These are a qualitative step better than anything in their price range. They deserve the widest exposure possible. Don't change the impedance either. Given the right amp and music, they are competitive with any top tier system. Keep up the good work!

Give it four business days for tracking to show up. Yes, it is likely you will get them by the 1st but probably not before Christmas. Almost every package I get from Head-Direct from China arrives in 5 days (I live in California).

Agree as well. I got my HE5 on Friday and am using it with my PPA. Sound is wonderful with plenty of gain. I will try them on the Shanling PH100 later. Not hearing any sibilance problem either, unless it is built into the recording.

I'm going to do some more listening and post some formal thoughts soon.

I've been enjoying the HE-5's out of the Zana Deux very much. But curiosity has gotten the best of me and I ordered an EF5 tonight. A lot has been said about the combo so I need to hear with my own ears. Been a while since I added a new amp, so I'm looking forward to this.

A_Sr.

P.S. No sibilance.
