J2 Premium Hi-FI Earbuds or Sennheiser CX300-B?

Hello everyone. I am not an Audiophile like a lot of people. However, i do enjoy good quality sound. I was poking around amazon today and came across two pairs of earbuds that looked good to me and was hoping i could get somewhat of a professional opinion if you don't mind.

First in question are the Sennheiser CX300-B Earbuds

And the second pair are the JBuds J2 Premium Hi-FI Noise Isolating Earbuds

I thank you in advance for your time.

After reading through some other posts i guess i should mention, I will be using these with my Zune 120GB and i mainly listen to Heavy Metal/Metalcore but many many other types of music as well.

i am noob myself, I have recently asked a similar question. If you are looking for in-ear one, somebody suggested this:

I thank you but, i was hoping to get an opinion about the two listed because of their current price.

Then how are the J2s? I read the reviews for both of them on Cnet and the CX300's had a more favorable review. The only reason i was leaning to the J2s was because of the color choice but, i would prefer the better sound of the two.

I just got to looking at the site in your signature What would you recommend for the 25 dollar price range?

I have both and will choose the authentic Sennheiser CX300 over the J2's easily. But I don't know, I tend to listen to R&B, Vocals, Jazz, & Orchestra type music. I had some Grado's in the past and if you can do open headphones, and spend a little more, the SR60's are great for rock and heavy metal.

I got my Jbuds yesterday and I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed with the sound. Reading up at Head-Fi gave me the impression that these were neck-and-neck with the CX300/EP630s... the moment I put them in my ears, I realized this was not the case. Maybe it's just a case of a bad seal, but my jbuds sound really muddy and have an extremely pronounced midrange. My EP630s have much better bass reproduction and clarity, not to mention much better sound isolation. Hopefully these things clear up after ~50 hours or so, but it seems a bit much for burn-in to help now.

I would pick the CX300's myself. I just got my pair from amazon myself and I really like them.

CX300 > EP630 > J2. That said, Soundmagic PL21 = Meelec Ai-M9 > Soundmagic PL30 > JVC HA-FXC50 >>> CX300 (in everything except bass quantity). Just something to mull over - all of these are under $25 .

Do you know of any reputibale site to purchase any of those? I did a search for the SoundMagic PL21 and found one site - dealperfect.com

and for the Meelec Ai-M9 https://www.meelec.com/ProductDetail...phone-AIM9-MEE

I thank everyone for their input.

Dealperfect is currently experiencing technical difficulties, so don't bother trying to buy from them. Focalprice has the PL-21's. They have the PL30's, too, in all 3 color schemes.

And yes, Meelec themselves is obviously a legit dealer for the Meelectronics. They might be cheaper on overstock though.

I really appreciate it, thank you very much.

get a pair of v-moda vibes from ebay ^^, they about 30-40$ w/ ship. see if u can get the ones with a 90 degree 3.5mm jack (new revision, the old one stands right out and breaks easily..)
I'm a audiophile noob as well but compared to other cheap IEMs I've had v-moda vibe whipes em off the table.

edit: lots of typo...

I've written a micro-comparison of them before in this thread. Luckily someone from ABI forums copied my post word-for-word without quoting, or I never would've found it .
