No (got spares), yes, and yes.

All HE60's need a refresh (if it hasn't been done recently) as the rubber o-rings that hold the driver in ($2) crack and release the pressure on the driver. When this happens, there is no longer a perfect seal between the driver and the earcup so performance is lost. For cosmetics, the headband pad and earpads also need to be replaced as they "flake" which doesn't effect performance but looks bad.

The STAX 007 series doesn't seem to have any parts that degrade outside of the foam inside the earpads.

Not really. Perhaps a year or two ago but they really aren't selling for anywhere near that amount anymore.

This is the third pairing I've seen sell on ebay for under $1000 in the past three months.

They already did it once for a select group of Head-Fiers. It was put together by Dr. Jan Meier. From what I've read it won't be happening again.

This headphone must be really really amazing. It is an electronic gadget which must be sent back to Germany atleast once, but still attractive.

Yes they are amazing.

And as for those $1,000 HE60's, they are being sold in the wrong venue as they would bring much more here!

The elastic band inside the headband may need to be replaced with time, but apart from that and the said earpads foam the SR-007 seem to hold up very strong.

Yeah, Sennheiser put together 18 HE90s in 2005. Afaik Jan Meier took the initiative, Sennheiser built them from spare parts, and they were all sold through him in the end. No HEV90 were produced, hence the arrival of the HeadAmp Aristaeus...

Probably will never happen again.
