Does anyone know when the DS driver for the hiFace will be released...or its current progress? That's the only thing stopping me (and I'm sure several others) from grabbing one of them.

DS already works for 32bit, just not 64bit, and from what I gather, they are not going to support DS for 64bit due to cost involved.

That's inaccurate, DS works in XP, just not in Vista or W7, doesn't matter whether it's 32 or 64 bit, there is also a beta version of the driver that supports WASAPI and DS on those platform, including 64-bit, you can find the link in another m2tech thread in Computer section.

Oh. I must be off here then. Thanks for correction. I don't own m2tech so I didn't keep up-to-date on the m2tech updates..

Thanks, that's what I wanted to hear. I use W7 64-bit so it's important there be x64 drivers. I'm not sure why m2tech would release XP drivers before the more widely used and newer Vista / 7.

There is KS only official 64bit W7/Vista driver, the one in beta testing is for additional DS support.

The last poll I read (in a very recent Nvidia fermi article) of the average windows pc user base, 52% still use XP. Another 36% uses Vista. Windows 7 is growing in popularity fast though. 64-bit computers are definitely not the most widely used by a long shot yet, though I think most enthusiast builds are going that way in order to have the additional memory and future proofing.

Interesting...not what I expected. I've been using x64 OS's for a couple years now on all my PCs.

Based on gizmodo review, more users are using 64bit if they are running W7

Just switched to Ploytec USB ASIO (Through Teralink-X). Great ASIO indeed. Noticeably better than ASIO4ALL.
Like others stated, it balances the lower bass (not bloated like before) and overall tonality.
A much more relaxed and refined sound. Recommended to all.
Now I'm more than before eager to try the HiFace.

According to the m2tech website, DS is now enabled on the hiFace for W7 and Vista users. Can anyone confirm this and if it's bug-free?
