I have no affiliation with those people. Just did a search, from a known vendor.

Now, if you really want 75 ohms, I will have to dig a little harder. I have lots, but can't remember where they came from. Stay tuned.

Do you think that any of them are true 75ohms?

If, by "research", you mean reading DIYAudio. Let's face it: that is common practice there.

No, I just get tired of guys on one hand whining, and on the other acting like they haven't learned a thing from the folks they love to criticize.

Do you have a guilty conscience, hmm............

Gee, it certainly sounded like you were directly accusing me even when I re-read it & it's not the first time you have said this - so either fess up & point out the who I have not credited or stop making these accusations or are you retracting them now with your first statement. You can't have it everyway!

Let's see..........

They are cheap. Made in China, so odds are not good.

(The Teflon around the outside is the clincher, but the first 2 should be enough to know "no!")

(75 ohms is not common, except to the video and telecom boys. Most BNCs will be 50 ohm. Always assume 50 ohm, unless there is strong evidence they are not.)

Same goes for you hobbyists. Yet, almost all of them seem to want it that way. "Give us information, for free, you stingy old coot." Then, complain when the answer is over your head.

Yeah, that one does apply to you.

So you refuse to back up your accusation about me not giving credit where due & pointing out where?

Jkeny, do you really want to enter into this?

I was asking Joseph K who has a Hiface & tested attenuators on it

As regards the attenuators, I have the Suhner ones and had used those only. I think it would be a bit too early to look right now for the GOLD one.. Please try one, any one, first. The effect is quite strong anyway.

As I have told it already, I think the 10db ones are fitting very well the Hiface, because of the original high level drive. But it also depends on the receiver in the dac. As mentioned in those threads, some dac will be more happy with higher input level,

in that case a 3db, or even 2db attenuator could fit better.

Yes, please I prefer things out in the open as I don't have anything to hide. I don't like being the target of unfounded & unsubstaniated accusations so now's the time to clear this up!! Over to you guys - spit it out!!

Look, guys like you constantly whine that we hoard information. but, when you do get something useful, from someone like Joe K, what do you do?

Proclaim that you have "special" BNC connectors on the way..............and don't ask for any from me!, because I won't give them to you!...............yet give absolutely no clue to the other readers where you got the inspiration from.

We could just as easily say that you are hoarding information. You didn't share where the idea came from, until I "outed" it.

So, yeah, you are guilty of that.

OTOH, it would nice if one of you damn hobbyists would just once give credit to someone that you learned something from, and inspired you. How hard is it to say "Thanks!"? How hard is it to share what you learned, by acknowledging where you learned it?

Must be pretty damn hard, is all I have to say.

I can't hardly wait for you to reveal to us what you are working on. I'm sure that Jocko Homo and Joseph will be kind enough to help you do this adapter that will prevent sound degradation with S/PDIF signals.

Jeez, I already said why I was holding back on that info - I wanted to test out that it worked for me & which configuration worked best. So not much point in releasing this info now is there - you guys have not exactly advanced the knowledge about these attenuators since you came here "to help"

Well, Joseph K - let's get into it - where is it? Anything?

Hm, ok.

I had brought up this idea on the 6/5/2010 at diyhifi.

Then, on the 6/7/2010 appeared this post here, in this thread:

http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/449885/usb-to-spdif-converters-shoot-out-emu-0404-usb-vs-musiland-monitor-01-usd-vs-teralink-x-vs-m2tech-hiface/1455#post_6693884

that is, post #1461 of this thread.

And so on to post #1470, again in this thread, and then post #1476...

And since then, up to now, never any mention of diyhifi, anywhere..

Jeez, you really have a beef, don't you - problem is it's a kind of nebulous, shifting gripe that can't really make up it's mind where to settle.

When this happens it usually signifies your real gripe is something else altogether & you don't want to say what it is.

You are http://www.analogresearch-technology.net/ "Electronics for Serious Audiophiles" purveyors of Legato DAC, SPDIF cable & other products.

Could your problem with me be related to this?
