Regal,

You still insist on repeating this mistaken notion that ALL LiFePO4s come from one factory - this is a nonsense as I've said before. Not all LiFePO4s are made the same or have the same perormance - just go onto a remote control plane forum & you can check all the various LiFePO4 battery tests & discussion.

jkeny,  what I posted was a $25 upgrade for cheap bastards like me.   Its on you to prove that your batteries are better than any other $4 LiFePO4 battery.

Hi Jkeny,

Can you post the link for the LiFePO4 battery that you like best here again?  I tried to search but couldn't find it.

Indeed, I have had very good results with the Oyaide DB-510. Another high performance digital cable to consider is the Blackcat veloce (http://www.sixmoons.com/audioreviews/blackcat/veloce.html ) It is supposed to be a slightly improved version of the stereovox XV2 at a lower price.
Compared to each other, the Oyaide was smooth and detailed, while the XV2 sounded fast and slighlty bright/mecanical on the top end.

This is of course what I have found whith my ears and in my system...

With your ears ONLY?

OR - with your ears AND your eyes AND your full knowledge of the cable being used at the current moment?

I don't quite understand your post. Could you be more explicit concerning what you don't like about what I said? Do you have perhaps a recommendation for ccshua?

ccshua asked a specific question, he wanted to know which cable would minmize the reflections between his hiface and a possible external DAC. Since I don't have the means to measure or predict such a thing, I told him about my personal experience.

Hi ironmine

What are you using as a USB transport these days?  Did you pick up a HiFace yet?

sorry i have put in words completely.

"what is the recommend coaxial cable and length and connectors for the hiface to minimize reflection"

OK. got it. at 1.23m to this priced USD 123 cable due to its 'characteristics'

Hello Upstateguy!

I haven't made up my mind yet. I am not ready to let hiFace set me back $150 plus shipping. Too many hands itching to mod it and too many happy post-tweak reports :) I guees I'll wait for an asynchronous Teralink-X number 3 ;)

Considering that one can move the modded HiFace with USB cable extension closer to the DAC, does anybody have tried that? I guess it is supposed to outclass every cable as one won't use any.

The modded hiface might be too heavy to plug directly into the DAC. However, I see no reason to not try it with the regular hiface which is very light. The usb extender will probably do far less harm to the signal than the digital cable. Too bad I don't have the stock hiface to try it.

By the way, there is this new converter (http://www.audiophilleo.com/audiophilleo1.aspx )that offers that same type of connector and they suggest plugging their usb converter directly into the DAC.

No cable is probably better than the "best" cable.

As for me, I will try to get my hands on a very short BNC to BNC cable (around 10 cm) and see if there is an improvement over the 1.3m Oyaide I have. Now that I am using a usb extender I don't need anymore that extra length. If anybody knows a place where to buy a very short (less than a foot) BNC to BNC cable, let me know.

Oh you too use a 1.3m Oyaide :)

I needed 1.3m also as the 0.7m was too short but with the modified HiFace and USB cable extension I won't need so much lenght neither.

Well it shouldn't be a problem plugging the modded HiFace directly behind the DAC on a support. It won't pull on the digital connector of the DAC.

I'm very tempted to try the RCA to RCA thing like on the pic. Do you know any good?

Today I plug in the hiface BNC to my audio-gd reference 1. set the output to 24bit. then 16bit. then 24bit and I never turn back.

Now on some tracks, I dunno whether it is hiface or the recording problem or ripping problem, I heard some artifacts. not sure which one of it ?

Can we set 24bit/88.2 khz or 24bit/96khz?

Why not trying a dual male BNC connector for your modded HiFace??
