iAudio X5: direct USB to external storage device possible?

Probab. a redundant query ... but via USB can one directly connect the X5 to an external (portable) storage device like a Flash/thumb drive or a 1.8" HD?
(I need more storage than the 60GB of my current iAudio X5).

If you get the MK8007GAH you can put 80 gigs in it.
