A month or so ago I volunteered to host a Windows 7 launch party and got selected as a host. I received the party pack from Micro$oft today including a signature edition of the Ultimate version. I sat up and installed it last night. Its great! Cool to have it 2 weeks before its going to be launched worldwide!

I just got my copy from the Campus computer store two days ago. It's definitely noticeably faster, and I'm really liking the taskbar.

wow, the package looks damn cool!
Sadly my school's bookstore hasn't offered the W7 yet. I had to pre-order it and wait until Oct 22nd.

That's a pretty awesome package there! Is that signature edition hand signed? I can't really tell from the picture. Are there supposed to be any differences?

yes all the drivers, instead of being digitally signed are in fact hand signed as and when you require them, takes longer than usual though to wait for certificate through snail mail

To the OP, do you actually have to prove to MS that you had a party? Just wondering.

Nope. But I intend to have a few people over and post some pics at the party site.

Its printed, not hand signed. If it were I guess people would would have it on ebay by now!

for those of you who have windows7, is it also a resource hog like vista was?
Oh Yeah, It's hoggin' all my precious resources.. Stay Away if you value your clock cycles and memory bytes.

OMG THAT WOULD BE SO AWESOME. I mean, Windows 7 balloons!

I wish it was valid for New Zealand too. It only seems to go down as far as Australia

I'm not sure where the myth that free RAM is a good thing came from, but it's not. Unused memory is wasted performance. Any unused RAM should be preloaded with stuff to improve performance, as Vista and 7 do. If programs need that memory, it's instantly freed at no cost.
