mark - sorry to bother you again. But given that I see you have both the UM3X and the SE530 - how would they stack up in your opinion (obviously I am keeping in mind your earlier IE7 vs SE530 information).

mvw - just want to say thanks for the awesome info. Any additional comments on the UM3X?
I tried many IEMs include E500, TF10Pro, X10, Cutom 3 and i find so far Custom 3 are the best for rock genre. They has airy, warm, forward soundsignature and mids are so rich, live, detailed and different instrument sound so real with great bass extention(deep, crisp, punchy).

Honestly you need to hear them side by side. Do not just look at the reviews and take it at face value about the rolled off highs and whatsoever..

Rolled off highs on SE530? Actually I found the Westone UM3x to be really unpleasant instead, vocals sound soft as compared to instruments and also throaty and airy when they are hitting the high notes. But I never hear such stuff on my SE530.

Alright thanks guys - after a lot of reading I think I'll try the UM3x, wish there was somewhere I could at least give the SE530s a listen

Sorry the double - for anyone have any last minute comments before I eliminate my X10s/IE7s?

Also - anyone know of a place in either New York or Philadelphia where I could demo the SE530s/UM3Xs?

You can audition the SE530s at J&R Music World in New York City. I suggest bringing your own source and preferred tips (if you have ones you like and fit) so you can hear it exactly as you would if you bought them, but they provided me with medium black foams.

Sorry guys - didn't get a chance to try the SE530s, barely made the bus back. The PP transactions have cleared - so now, any last comments before I try the UM3X, as tortured as I am vs the SE530... (figure I can always resell...)
