As a hardcore Red Sox fan I hate to say it but I think this is the year of the Yankees. Here is how I see things shaking out..

AL Series
Angels beat Red Sox in 5 games (Angels handle Sox in 3 games)
Yankees beat Twins in 3 games (Yanks beat Twins in 3 as expected)

Yankees beat Angels in 5 games

NL Series
Dodgers beat St. Louis in 5 games (Dodgers take care of Cards in 3 games)
Phillies beat Rockies in 4 games (Phillies win series 3-1)

Dodgers beat Phillies in 6 games

World Series
Yankees beat Dodgers in 5

What's everyone else's thoughts?

I don't know, but i have a weird feeling that the Twins will pull an upset over the Yanks. This IS coming from a Minnesotan though.

Correct! I threw that together quickly before lunch so I'll give you one guess where my head was at.

I really would love to see this happen, and anything is possible in October! But I really don't think it will this year.

Hmmmm, somehow I think the yanks are gonna have an easy time against the twins ... and im not just saying that cuz im a huuuuge yankees fan. sox vs angels is def gonna be interesting tho, but im gonna say whoever wins the first game wins the series in that one

I say Cards vs Angels in the WS.

I'm hoping the Dodgers will bring the World Series to LA. Mostly because I want to go to a game. The savings account is healthy - I'll pull the trigger on a ticket if the Dodgers can make it.

I'm cheering for the Dodgers but I haven't watch enough baseball this year to really know how all of the teams compare to each other.

We mostly get the Blue Jays in Canada but maybe one day we will get the Montreal Expos back.

I had a lot of fun watching the Rockies this year, and they're a better team than they were in 2007. It'd be fun to see them tough out some postseason.

If Philly can actually finish games (more like Lidge doesn't blow any games), I see them favourites to repeat. I like Philly's lineup better than the Yankees, 'nuff said.

Well thats the problem with the phillies lineup, usually only one star performs on any given night ... on the other hand, when the yanks get on an outburst, more than half the lineup is contributing to the offense ... therefore on paper looking at just names, the phillies offense is better, but the numbers say otherwise

Look at the TV markets. NY, LA x 2, Boston, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Denver, Minneapolis. The chances are two in 8 of getting the LA market, three in eight for a NE market and St. Louis is a decent draw for a small market team.

The possible finals of NY/Boston and LA/Philadelphia has to have east coast media licking their chops.
