I'm not available until after my kid's hockey season is over, so mid-late feb at the soonest.

If I am around, I would love to come. I could bring some juicy tidbits like the TTVJ 307A; HD800 balanced with SA Voice, CD3000 and SA-5000 both balanced with Moon Audio Black Dragon; and a killer source (Meridian 808.2).

Okay, I'm going to try and get something together somewhere for December 5/6 - will report back.

While I look into booking space somewhere, is there anyone in the area who might be interested in hosting in your house or office?

I'm in the process of doing a little research, but wanted to run some ideas by the group, and specifically ask if folks would be willing to chip in for some of the pay options. There are a few options available to us:

-Public library, like our last meet. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any meeting rooms available at any of the libraries in our area - they all seem to be booked for the near future.

-Hotel conference room - I'm waiting to hear back from a few hotels, but so far the one I've managed to nail down is the Courtyard Marriott in Rosslyn. They have a 650 sq-ft rm that they'd be willing to rent to us for $350. To me this seems reasonable, but I will continue to shop around.

-Partnering with a local retailer - I have gotten in touch with a local HiFi store (JS Audio) as well as Myer-Emco to see if they would be willing to host us. JS Audio is going to get back to me but their space may not be well set up for us on a weekend. The manager I spoke with at Myer-Emco sounded interested and asked me to forward him details - I'd imagine we would have an area in the store where we could set up. This option would likely be free, and an opportunity to expose non-Head-Fi-ers to our world, but that probably comes with its own set of drawbacks.

-Local community center - I talked to my local CC in Falls Church, and they don't have availability for 12/5, but they do for the following weekend, 12/12, and would charge $110 for 5 hours.

-A Head-Fi-er's residence - This could be great, but I can't host and nobody else has indicated any interest in doing so.

I'd love to hear thoughts anybody has, and especially if folks would be willing to chip in for one of the pay options, like hotel or community center, please let me know and tell me how much you think would be reasonable for you to contribute so that we've got a budget to work with.

If gaithersburg isn't too far away, I used the residence inn there when I ran my meet last fall, it was $150 or $200.

I am in NoVa, (Centreville) and am definitely interested in making this meet.
Have you heard of The Gifted Listener? It is a great local HiFi shop, that might be into hosting us. Shame I didn't see this thread sooner as I just returned from there, picking up Grado GS1000 cups for my MS1000i's.
LMK if you want me to talk to the owner...

Arlington just opened a new library. I stopped in a little while ago and they haven't gotten any requests yet for the meeting room, because there's no way to request it yet. It has a lot of electrical outlets, including on the top of each table. The tables are plugged into floor outlets so I don't know how easy it will be to move tables around. It's looks like it's set up for people sitting at computers.

The Gifted Listener would be cool since I've always wanted to check it out but rarely get out that way.

The Residence Inn in Gaithersburg was pretty good too.

Edit: The library said the online request form will be up sometime this week.
