In my 20s in the 80s, I was typically the only person at work with a beard. In some places, the only one with any facial hair. I also had shoulder length hair. One job, they called me their token hippie. Out of 100 people, including the women, I had the longest hair. None of the men had facial hair or hair touching their ears.
