I want one but I doubt they can beat my HD800s, any impressions here? Looks like you need a roflpwn amp to run the HE-5s too, no cheapo amps for these. They need juice.

I posted a brief impression vs my HD800 on the ZDT either here or in the RMAF impressions thread, and the HE-5 were closer to the level of my APS v3 cabled RS-1 and not as good as my HD800 with Double-Helix cable. I enjoyed the HE-5 a lot more on the EF1 that head-direct was using, and they still aren't up to HD800 levels but I don't think anyone expects that. I think the $600 is an appropriate selling price for these.

I haven't heard them, but since they are orthos, I imagine there's some things they do better than the sennheisers. Just based on the tech differences. I think my vintage Yamaha orthos do some things better than the HD800
