Delisted...gonna keep this stuff...no takers.

Due to improvements in my portable rig as well as having a child, I am hardly ever using my desktop rig, and can't justify keeping it any longer.

For sale is my Ack Dack 2.0. It has the Ultra Resolution upgrade and contains a black onyx front and back (also an upgrade). This non-oversampling DAC sounds incredible, very analog. It runs on battery power, so the thing generating your sound is untouched by A/C power line noise. When switched off (and plugged in), it automatically charges up and then keeps a continuous trickle charge so it's ready for action. When you turn it on, it kills the connection to the A/C for off-the-grid listening. It uses a custom battery pack (called a BattpAck) sold by Ack-Industries for $75. My battery was last replaced in early 2007.

For sale is my Red Wine Audio USB Transit (not available from Red Wine Audio anymore...or at least, not on their website). This is a USB to S/PDIF converter made by M-Audio called "USB Transit" that has been modified by Red Wine Audio to run on battery power. This allows it to generate a very clean digital signal from the USB output of your computer. The ASIO drivers for this device, available from M-Audio's website (for Windows), are kept current. I have used it with Vista 32-bit and Windows7 (RC1) 64-bit without issue. Out of Foobar2000 the sound is incredible (try the Secret Rabbit Codec software-based upsampler). The RWA Transit uses a replaceable sealed lead acid rechargeable battery. I just replaced the battery two months ago. The replacement batteries cost $10 online, though you must open the device and solder the leads to it. Very easy to do, tons of space to do the soldering and no sensitive components nearby, but if you're not comfortable soldering or going online to learn how, this isn't the device for you.

I have used these two devices together for years now, the sound is just amazing from them. If you've not heard computer audio done right, you owe it to yourself to do so. The DAC does a lot of the work, but I have A/Bed using the Transit vs a CD player as transport and the Transit is way ahead. These two devices work great together, as they both use BNC connectors to transmit/receive the digital signal. You can always use a BNC to RCA converter for compatibility with other devices though. DAC was over $900 new. Transit was $400 new (I think...can't remember now)

Ack Dack 2.0 - $425
USB Transit - $100
