A few questions regarding magnifier lamps

I think I'll get me one of these, as the recent few projects involved quite a bit of SMD work (and a few more projects are on the way), and the small loupe I have at the moment is just not enough.

I've started checking out the selection in some local stores, and I see there are quite a few types in terms of the size, and the magnification factor.

I was just wondering, these of you who are using magnifier lamps, what size/magnification factor is the best for electronics work?

Thank you.

the one I use is like this:

STAPLES | BUREAU EN GROS

about the only noticeable difference is that there is two outlets in the base of the one I have.

Sometimes it is a pain to get the head where I want it, and sometimes it just gets in the way as I'm trying to solder, but having that much area of magnification I usually find a position where it will eventually work.

I have a nice one but as my eyesight has deteriorated as I get older I find it too hard to use, mostly for the reasons cobaltmute mentions about getting in the way, etc.
I am going to invest in one of those headband magnifiers, they have different lens diopters that can be used as needed.
What I do now though works very well for me and is very inexpensive. I use 3.5 diopter reading glasses combined with another pair of anywhere from 1.75 to 3.5 the two pair combo gives me what I need in terms of magnification and do not get in my way.
Although I probably look silly as all get out with two pair on, it really works well.
