Headphone amplifier with hdmi input?

As the title states.

For what purpose?

The only reason to have an HDMI input would be if it has a built-in DAC that supports I2S.

If you are referring to a headphone amp also being capable of Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master Audio, your only options would be an integrated receiver.

I can still desire that which does not exist. The closest thing is the Grace Design m902.

So you're asking for imaginary recommendations?

Your initial response didn't overwhelm me with its politeness; I found it condescending. Apology not forthcoming.

Hey, stumbled on this thread on Google. The new Microsoft ZUNE HD devices use HDMI for direct digital out and since I hate Apple and no one seems to want to make anything compatible with ZUNE's USB interface, I wouldn't mind seeing a portable headphone amp with an HDMI in and a 24 bit DAC to bypass the cheap internal DAC. This would also be great for using the device in my car. It would be icing on the cake if it had a decent built in rechargeable power source. I dunno, maybe I'm asking too much.

Um, Microsoft discontinued the Zune.

That's probably why you aren't finding much support.
