Do I have unilateral hearing loss, or is it something else? - Page 2

Go to an ENT, not an audiologist.
An audiologist just measures your hearing, whereas an ENT is a trained medical doctor and may be able to help.

Possible alternatives involve ear infections, wax blockage and unilateral hearing loss ETC.

Depending on your age, 15.5 khz may be a normal roll-off (despite what anyone says). If you have tinnitus, this may be normal as well depending on what your age is. A study in 1948 found that 98% of college students had tinnitus if they stood in a completely silent chamber.

I would bet big money to say that this hasnt changed, just that those with tinnitus are so deaf or unaware they cant even hear their tinnitus.

I've had hearing damage since birth (this seems to be a common pattern with audiophiles, lol) and I only started to notice my tinnitus after turning down everything (I listen to music at about 32 dB give or take). And now i have hyperacusis because I listen quietly with isolating canalphones at the moment. Wouldn't change a thing.
