Sony X Series Question?

1.) How does the sound quality to other players like the:

cowon s9
zune 30/80/120gb
Nokia 5800
sansa fuze
amp3
sansa clip+
cowon iaudio
Nokia N91


2.) How would they sound paired with the sennheiser mx w1's....would those earphones cripple the sound quality?

I've done the search, and didn't come up with much. I have a Cowon i7 and j3; listened to my husband's 32GB "X" and was blown away. It's =/> the SQ of my i7. My iphone 3GS obviously pales by comparison. I've listened via the included IEMs as well as Shure SE530s and while the earbuds are decent, you'll want to replace the OEMs. Still, the earbuds are a good substitute while at the gym.

 

I have an X on the way and jr.com is delivering my MXW1's on Monday... I'll update with pics and impressions once I've had a few days to listen to the combo (along with the baby Stax).

I'm impressed by how mine sounds, but pissed by the crappy web browser and related lack of an alphabetic keyboard.  It also costs more than it should of given relative features on other devices.
