Westone 3's don't sound good without a treble boost.

I'm listening to W3's on my 4g Nano with a LOD and iBasso D2. With no EQ the treble sounds way low and muddled. Way too much bass. I'm finding that I really like the "jazz" presets, with "treble booster" and "bass reducer" coming in second.

What's wrong with me?

What tips do you use?

Triple flange. Easier and faster to insert than the foam ones.

Try to mod the triple flange, cut the small stem out. It does improves a little,

Another treblehead like me. I find the W3 bass-heavy as well, while at the time it seemed like almost everyone liked them. Instead of finding an EQ that works though, I just claimed that it doesn't suit my taste and sold it off.
