Impedance Up/down converter

I just build a headphone impedance Up/down transformer matching converter. It only need permalloy step up/down transformers + 6,35mm Jack x 2. 1 for Input , 1 for output , together with a 6.35mm Plug x 2 Cable.
it can convert high impedance Headphone amps to adapt low impedance & convert low impedance Headphone output (not enough driving voltage to drive high impedance Cans) to drive 300 ~ 600 Ohm headphone.

Do you think this type of adapter need step up/down or only need step down ?

I was thinking of doing the same. Can you let me know what transformer you are using and where you got it from?

Thanks.

I made it by myself. I can offer you a pair of free sample. You only need write a very short review after you Diy your own converter. Please email to sales@audiotailor.com Joe Lau

What are your winding resistances?

if you make it step up, cant you just switch the inputs and outputs to have it step down?

Yes ! So I will build it In/Output by a 6.35mm Jack + a cable (Both end with 6.35mm Jack). It can use as step up or step down, just depend on how you connect it.
