STAX Extension Cable for O2...Best Options?

I have a situation were I need an extension cable for my O2 rig. I have searched around the forums a bit and am not sure what to do:

1. SRE-725 Extension that appears to match the O2's cable but probably isn't the same quality?

2. Older STAX extension cable as they look more beefy?

3. Something custom? I have the WPI connectors and almost limitless DIY abilities but finding good sounding 600V insulated wire is difficult.

Suggestions or comments on the above? How about the quality of the SRE-725 compared to the OEM O2 cable?

The SRE-725 cable is exactly the same cable as the original O2 cable and better than the older round cables.There's nothing wrong with the SRE-725 (except the price).

Good to know.

Does anyone know about the quality of the older version cables and if I can do something better if I custom build it?

While the 007 cable and the 725 cables are the standard for top-of-the-line Stax, I see that Stax has opted for a silver/copper cable for the 404 Ltd. Something like that might be worth looking into.


You might want to post in the cable section for other advice, although watch out for the crazies.
