Hi,

I'm looking to buy a new mp3 player. I was the owner of Mpman(the first mp3 player ever), iriver h120 (which was a tank that I used for more than 4 years), cowon T2(which died), and cowon d2 (which I lost).

After a period of time without a mp3 player for like a year, I decided to get a new inexpensive mp3 player for language learning purpose (Pimsleur Mandarin) and listen to some music (no specific preference.). I do not need any video or photo capability.

After doing some research, I thought sansa fuze, sansa clip+, cowon iaudio7, samsung q2 and sony s544 are the ones that match my need.

Here are the prices at which I can get those items.

Sansa Fuze 8gb = 65
Sansa Clip+ 8gb = 79.99
iauido7 8gb = 99.99
samsung q2 8gb = 99.99
sonys544 8gb = 104.99

I have a cx300 as my headphone right now. Battery life is very important since I don't like charging my mp3player much. Other than that I'm pretty indifferent to other feature.

Given the price and their features, which one would your recommend to me?

Thank you.

the iAudio is the battery life king, followed by the Samsung and Sony, with the Sansa's in far last place.

i'd personally pick that iAudio.

I do not have the q2 so if my suggestion is completely incorrect then sorry, but I don't own one because I've read far too many complaints about poor battery life on the q2. There have been many claims that you'll be lucky to push 5 or 6 hours on it if you don't turn off absolutely everything on it.

Iaudio 7 is a very good player. I used it for quite a couple of months before getting X1060.

U will loved it. Trust me.

i would definitely choose the iaudio7 over the clip+ BUT...i believe u CANNOT expand the memory on the iaudio7 as u can on the clip+. correct me on this tho if im wrong seriously.

U won't go wrong on either of them but X price is ex.

Somebody mentioned here that the X got warm sound but to me the I7 is much warmer.

X had better detail than I7.

U had been using Iaudio players before so the sound character is roughly there for I7 or better.

Initially, when I listened to X, I also feel that I7 is better but when u listened more. U will feel likewise.

X definitely win over quality. Sound is much cleaner & focus.

U should try out yourself. Anyway, X is not in your list of mp3.
