I've been lurking here for a while but went ahead and got myself an account not too long ago, so...here I am!
As I'm typing this I'm sat on the couch listening to Catherine Wheel on my Sansa Fuze, with Grado SR80i's. I quite love the Grado sound but, as much as I love it having a 1/8" jack and a cable that is not as ridiculously long as most cans (10 feet) it's not really the most suitable solution for portable use, in terms of both size and sound leakage.
So, I'm looking for a portable solution that has the following characteristics:
1. SQ similar to the Grado's. I listen to a lot of indie rock music, but also some electronic and ambient.
2. Closed model
3. Smaller than the Grado's. Think Skullcandy size, only not as ugly.
4. Preferably a short cable with 1/8" (3,5mm) jack.
5. Wouldn't mind it looking less "nerdy" than my Grado's, and to be honest many fullsize cans.
Form-wise the B&O Form 2 would be great. But I find it lacks warm, deep bass and the highs could be brighter as well. It does sound somewhat acceptable with the custom EQ set right, but I am looking for better SQ by default.
Maybe this is just a mission impossible, but I figured that if I were to ask people somewhere it should be here.
