Have they been serviced recently (driver retaining O-Rings replaced)? If not, this will have to be done as the originals crack and release the seal on the drivers causing a decrease in bass and overall performance. Any flaking on the earpads? I am wiling to bet if you push in on them that they are slightly cracked and about to flake as they tend to go at the same time but it isn't nearly as obvious.
