Is he supposed to stand up to listen to floorstanding speakers? With a room that size, I think floorstanders are fine and are more suited than bookshelves.

The room is quite large (600 square feet). I listen to an amazing array of music and need the dynamics that these floor standers offer. I did previously have bookshelves, anyway.

This is exactly what I've discovered. The room is big and bookshelves just aren't what this room needs (guess you'd have to "hear the difference" to understand).

I've got the RRS BH-40 ballhead, on a Gitzo 2530EX Explorer tripod. It's a great setup, especially for macro work.
